It's Courthouse Steps

I decided to make a traditional quilt pattern, Courthouse Steps for this quilt. It uses up lots of dark and light fabrics. I cut the fabrics into 2 inch strips. First, I cut a red strip and sew a light colored strip on each side. I press that and cut those into 2 inch strips for the center. One of the advantages of this pattern is that strips are added to each side. Therefore, I add on the two sides before I have to press. I make several blocks at once, and that way, I can add the strips to more that one block at a time. I add the strips and then I trim the edges. I don't cut each strip to fit the block beforehand. It saves a lot of time.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with Google, and I can't upload my photo right now.

I had lots of trouble loading photos, too, and sometimes there is a space on a blog where I think there's supposed to be a photo, but I can't see it. Maybe tomorrow! It'll be good to see your courthouse steps.

I had problems loading and viewing the other day also....but persistence paid off.

strip piecing is the best for quilts needing a quick turn around time!

glad you are feeling better.
