I love coffee, I love tea

The book came!  I now own "Liberated Quiltmaking II."  I sat down and read it cover to cover.  Although it covers a lot of material from the first book (except for houses--which are mentioned) there is some great new stuff. I love this book!  And congratulations to Tonya Ricucci http://lazygalquilting.blogspot.com/  for having a quilt on page 123!  I was inspired to try making my own version of "Cuplets" by Joyce Hart, that is on page 117.  But I'm adding saucers. Two years ago, I made a Jan Mullen teacup quilt and it's on this blog back in May 2008.  That was one of the best quilts I ever made.  So I do love the teacup theme.  I was lying in bed at 3 AM listening to the rain (we are having some heavy rains here in Southern California) and I thought of the title of the quilt I want to make, even before I sewed a stitch--"I love coffee, I love tea." I plan to break out some of those bright fat quarters that I've been hoarding to make some mugs and  saucers--and I have no idea what the finished quilt is going to look like.

I got mine Friday and it has been right by my side ever since. I look at it all the time. I do wish Gwen had done a little with houses. I do love to do houses. It is a great book.

Wow Roz, lucky you. I'm still waiting for mine order from Amazon. It has been shipped, but Australia is over the water, it will take a bit longer. I can wait to see Ton's quilt - Hugs Nat

Oh, great shot of the Tcup. I don't have books, just magazines.
But this one sure looks like fun!

I often wondered how much a book we actually used after paying all that money...this sure looks like fun!

I am itching to find this book.
it sure looks like fun!

Just got my book too. I was also drawn to the cups...one of my favorite in the book. Can't wait to see what you do with your "I love coffee, I love tea".

Ooo, fun! Fat quarters will be just the thing to play with for making cups and saucers. My book came yesterday; I have to wait now for someone to take it apart and put the pages in sleeves for me. Argh!

Has the rain come to an end yet for you? Our skies have clouded back over - no more sun for us!

Yup, I got mine right as I had to walk out the door, so I carried it around for the whole day, sneaking glances, and then sat down and read it all the way through first chance. I like how her books sound just like she sounds when she talks.
