I've gotten this quilt top sewn together.  And the good news is that I found a good piece of fabric in my stash to use for the quilt backing.  The bad news is that I'm feeling a bit tired.  I guess I'm going to have to slow down a bit.  I think that I might do some applique or embroidery for a change.  My life is complicated.  Meanwhile, my knitting for charity is going along very well.  I've got a couple of kid's sweaters that I'm knitting.  With so many parents having hard times, I'm thinking that in the Fall when kids start school, there'll be a need for some sweaters.  Not so much need for hats and mittens, because I live in Southern California.  Speaking of Southern California, I'm hoping that our weather will settle down to its usual spring stuff.  Last week it rained and there was snow on the mountain tops--that's really weird for around here in April. We get a lot of clouds in May and June, but rain is generally not in the picture.  It's beautiful here now, all the streets are lined with flowers.

I think I'm going to try to be more diligent about sewing up my leftover bits as I come to the end of a project from now on. I don't want my scrap piles to build up again the way they have over the last 15-20 years!

Hurray for a piece in your stash that works to back this liberated quilt! That always feels like a gift, doesn't it?

Roz, I will certainly miss seeing pictures of your very innovative pieces, but I certainly understand needing to slow down and refocus. But will you really be slowing down, if you're still doing charity knitting? :) I do understand, trust me! I do a lot of charity sewing myself (http://SewinSistersSowing.blogspot.com). Blessings to you!
